European Projects
SABYDOMA
One of the novel themes of this study is to use system control and optimisation theory including the Model Predictive Control (MPC) philosophy to bind the whole subject of SbD from laboratory innovation to the industrial production line and from decision making processes to project governance. An equally important innovative step is the building of high throughput online platforms where nanomaterial (NM) is manufactured and screened at the point of production. The screening signal controls the NM redesign and production in a feedback loop.
Funding: EU H2020 Duration: 01/04/2020-Present Website: https://www.sabydoma.eu/NanoSolveIT
NanoSolveIT aspires to introduce a ground-breaking in silico Integrated Approach to Testing and Assessment (IATA) for the environmental health and safety of Nanomaterials (NM), implemented through a decision support system packaged as both a stand-alone open software and via a Cloud platform.
Funding: EU H2020 Duration: 01/01/2019-Present Website: http://www.nanosolveit.eu/NanoCommons
NanoCommons will deliver a sustainable and openly accessible nanoinformatics framework (knowledgebase and integrated computational tools, supported by expert advice, data interpretation and training), for assessment of the risks of NMs, their products and their formulations. NanoCommons combines Joint Research Activities to implement the nanoinformatics Knowledge Commons, Networking Activities to facilitate engagement with the research community, industry and regulators, and provision of funded Access to the nanoinformatics tools via funded calls for Transnational Access. NanoCommons will establish a single integrated resource for nanoinformatics data in which different stakeholders (e.g. scientists, regulators, NGOs, industries, etc.) can have confidence that it is both up-to-date and self-consistent.
Funding: EU H2020 Duration: 01/01/2018-Present Website: https://www.nanocommons.eu/BIORIMA
BIORIMA aims to develop an Integrated Risk Management (IRM) framework for NBM used in ATMP and MD. The BIORIMA IRM framework is a structure upon which the validated tools and methods for materials, exposure, hazard and risk identification/assessment and management are allocated plus a rationale for selecting and using them to manage and reduce the risk for specific NBM used in ATMP and MD.
Funding: EU H2020 Duration: 01/11/2017-Present Website: https://www.biorima.eu/eNanoMapper
eNanoMapper is an EU funded research project that developed a computational infrastructure for the sharing and managing of data on the health and safety of nanomaterials. It comprises several different components, including a public database that contains information on nanomaterials, including toxicological, ecotoxicological, and physio-chemical characterisation data.
Funding: FP7-NMP Duration: 01/02/2014-31/01/2017 Website: http://www.enanomapper.net/OpenTox
The OpenTox framework provides tools for the integration of data from various sources (public and confidential), for the generation and validation of (Q)SAR models for toxic effects, libraries for the development and seamless integration of new (Q)SAR algorithms, and scientifically sound validation routines. OpenTox is relevent for users from a variety of research areas; Toxicological and chemical experts (e.g. risk assessors, drug designers, researchers); (Q)SAR model developers and algorithm developers; Non-(Q)SAR specialists requiring access to Predictive Toxicology models and data.
The OpenTox project moves beyond existing attempts to solve individual research issues within this area, by providing a flexible, extensible, and user friendly framework that integrates existing solutions as well as providing easy access to new developments.
