The Student Competition is open to students from all EURELECTRIC member countries as well as
affiliates.

Participating students must submit a one-page essay elaborating on the following:

“Innovation in the energy sector is particularly important in the current economic climate.
Would an ambitious European innovation policy, aligned with the EU’s overall
energy/climate objectives, create jobs, boost economic growth and increase Europe’s
competitiveness at large or would it jeopardise the security and affordability of energy?.”

Deadline for entries is 1st March 2013. Students must be sponsored by their national association
(or company) and must meet the criteria listed in annex.

Η European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS) προκηρύσσει δύο βραβεία καλύτερης Διδακτορικής Διατριβής στην επιστημονική περιοχή της Υπολογιστικής Μηχανικής, που ολοκληρώθηκε το 2012 – (βλ.την συνημμένη Προκήρυξη η οποία υπάρχει και στην ιστοσελίδα της ECCOMAS)

Κάθε εθνική εταιρία υπολογιστικής μηχανικής – εν προκειμένω η Ελληνική Εταιρία Υπολογιστικής Μηχανικής (ΕΛΕΤΥΜ) – θα επιλέξει, μετά από διαδικασία αξιολόγησης από ειδική επιτροπή που θα οριστεί από το ΔΣ της ΕΛΕΤΥΜ, την καλύτερη διατριβή και θα την προωθήσει στην ΕCCOMAS με υποψηφιότητα για βράβευση.

Σημειώνεται ότι η διατριβή που θα επιλεγεί από την ΕΛΕΤΥΜ, θα βραβευτεί στο ECCOMAS Young Investigators Conference (YIC), 2-4 Σεπτεμβρίου 2013, το οποίο θα διεξαχθεί στο Μπορντώ, Γαλλία, βλ. http://yic2013.sciencesconf.org/ .

Οι διατριβές θα πρέπει να έχουν εξεταστεί από τις 7-μελείς εξεταστικές επιτροπές εντός του 2012.

Οσοι ενδιαφέρονται, πρέπει να ταχυδρομήσουν, το αργότερο μέχρι 15 Φεβρουαρίου 2013, ένα αντίγραφο της διατριβής, μια περίληψη 2-3 σελίδων στην Αγγλική και ένα βιογραφικό σημείωμα του διδάκτορα (στην Αγγλική) στη διεύθυνση:

You are invited to participate in the Electron Beam Lithography Workshop that will be held in the Institute of Advanced Materials, Physicochemical Processes, Nanotechnology and Microsystems of NCSR “Demokritos” on Friday 15 February 2013 from 9:30 to 14:00.

Electron Beam Lithography (EBL) systems are based on the electron microscope and they enable the fabrication of extremely fine patterns with great accuracy. It is the technology of choice for the fabrication of nanostructures, the fabrication of masks used in the IC industry and the design of prototypes for nanoelectronic devices, integrated optics, photonics and functional nanostructures. The purpose of this workshop is:

-- to present the newly purchased state-of-the-art 100keV Electron Beam Lithography system (EBPG5000+ES) from Vistec Lithography

-- to discuss with the Greek scientific community the possibilities of its exploitation and the involvement in research projects and

-- to lay down the collaboration terms and the rules for its usage.

The program of the workshop includes the presentation of the system and the lab facilities, lectures by experts in e-beam lithography and a round table discussion. You will receive a detailed program as soon as possible. What we need from you at the moment is to respond if you are willing to participate by completing the attached form and mailing it back to us.

Οι αυριανές εξετάσεις θα πραγματοποιηθούν κανονικά.

H εξέταση του μαθήματος του 1ου εξαμήνου "Προγραμματισμός ΗΥ- Βασικά Εργαλεία Λογισμικού" θα ξεκινήσει στις 10:00 (αντί για 8:30), προκειμένου να διευκολυνθεί η προσέλευση δεδομένης της απεργίας στα λεωφορεία.

Το πρόγραμμα των εξετάσεων των 4 τμημάτων στο PC-lab θα τροποποιηθεί ανάλογα.

Λόγω της συνεχιζόμενης αβεβαιότητας για την συνέχιση της απεργίας των ΜΜΜ, η Σχολή αποφασίζει την μετάθεση των εξετάσεων της αυριανής ημέρας (Τρίτης, 29/1/2013) στην Τρίτη, 26/2/2013, στις ίδιες ώρες και αίθουσες.

Η ΔΙΟΙΚΗΣΗ ΤΗΣ ΣΧΟΛΗΣ

Λόγω των απεργιών που έχουν εξαγγελθεί στα Μέσα Μαζικής Μεταφοράς, η Σχολή αποφασίζει την μετάθεση των εξετάσεων της Δευτέρας 28/1/2013 στην Δευτέρα 25/2/2013, στις ίδιες ώρες και αίθουσες.

Όσο για τις εξετάσεις της Τρίτης, 29/1 και Πέμπτης 31/1 θα υπάρξουν συγκεκριμένες ανακοινώσεις στον ιστότοπο της Σχολής, το συντομότερο δυνατόν, με βάση τα αντίστοιχα απεργιακά δελτία.
