Research interests focus on the development and/or use of analytical economic methods and decision making techniques for the optimal management of energy, environmental and industrial systems. Current research activities are developed in two parallel but interrelated streams:
Environmental Economics and Cost-Benefit analysis of projects and policies. Main application fields: innovative energy technologies (utilisation of Renewable Energy Sources, cogeneration systems etc), abatement of atmospheric pollution and global warming effect.
Multicriteria Decision Support: Ranking and/or classification of discrete alternatives (firms, projects, policies) according to multiple criteria. Multiobjective Linear Programming with applications in energy planning and management of natural resources.
She coordinates or participates in several competitive research projects financed mainly through EC funds (DG XII, XVII). Vice-president of the Hellenic Operational Research Society, member of the EURO Working Group "Multicriteria Aid for Decisions" and member of the Expert Group on "State of the Environment" Guidelines and Reporting at the European Environmental Agency.
