Research interests

 

My major research interests lie in the area of Operational Research (OR) and particularly in Multicriteria Analysis, Linear, Integer and Multi-Objective Programming. The development and the implementation of methods, models and tools from the above topics for solving various problems such as energy planning, project selection, portfolio selection, developing pollution abatement strategies, comparative evaluation of alternatives, waste management etc are among my basic research interests. A sample of my work in Multi-Objective Programming regarding the generation of Pareto optimal solutions using the epsilon-constraint method (AUGMECON method) can be found in GAMS library (http://www.gams.com/modlib/libhtml/epscm.htm). (GAMS is the acronym of General Algebraic Modeling System) and a more advanced version adapted mainly for Multi-Objective Integer Problems (AUGMECON2 method) can also be found in GAMS library (http://www.gams.com/modlib/libhtml/epscmmip.htm). More advanced topics such as modelling of uncertainty in the model’s parameters using elements from fuzzy set theory, Monte Carlo simulation etc are also in my research interests.
